in Memory of Soror Ruby Lee Patterson Tooley Elementary Education Award

Purpose: The Ruby Lee Patterson Tooley Elementary Education Award is given each year during the Southwestern Regional Conference to a member aspiring to become an elementary school teacher.


Eligibility: Individual Undergraduate Soror

Award: $250.00  and a certificate presented to one Undergraduate Soror


Criteria:  

  • Completion of awards application.

  • Show that you are actively perusing a degree in Elementary Education.

  • Documentation that you are in good standing with the college/university.

  • Brief essay (maximum two hundred words, typed). "Why do you think you should be worthy of this award?"

  • Three recommendations: 1 Community Leader, 2 University Professor’s.

Academic:

  • Documented junior or equivalent collegiate level in a four-year accredited institute of learning.

  • Documented GPA of at least 3.0 for a minimum of two semesters prior to the scholarship application.  

  • Required:  Official, sealed transcript from admissions office.
